Is your horse irritable, losing condition or has a poor appetite? Could they be suffering from ulcers?
AbSucralfate (sucralfate) is one of Abler’s most popular products for the symptomatic treatment of equine glandular gastric ulcer disease (EGGUD) and equine squamous gastric ulcer disease (ESGUD). Also known to be effective for treating the hindgut and right dorsal colitis. Ulcers are a common issue amongst stabled horses, performance horses stressed by a changed environment or horses being treated with anti-inflammatories.
Sucralfate binds to gastrointestinal mucosa, and acts as a "band-aid" to the ulcer crater, offering relief from pain associated with ulcers.
Each dose of AbSucralfate is effective for 6-8 hours.

TREATMENT & PREVENTION
|Safety and Storage|
Sucralfate can decrease the absorption of many drugs, including omeprazole (PPI's), and should not be given within a minimum of 30minutes from other oral medications and supplements.
As sucralfate is not absorbed systematically, adverse effects have not been reported. Constipation is a possible side effect – consult your vet if signs present.
Adverse effects due to an overdose are very unlikely.
Sucralfate appears to be very well tolerated in horses.
For added effectiveness in the healing of equine ulcers, learn about the benefits of combining AbSucralfate with AbPrazole or AbPrazole Plus (omeprazole).
